1. Definition of Cold process hardening
The strength and hardness of metal materials increase when plastic deformation below the recrystallization temperature, and the plasticity and toughness decrease.
When the metal is deformed in plasticity, the grain slips and misalignment occurs, causing the grain to elongate, break and fibrosis, and the residual stress is produced inside the metal.
The degree of processing hardening is usually expressed by the ratio of microhardness between post-processing and pre-processing surface layer microhardness and the depth of the hardening layer.
